A good day

We've been wrestling with a big decision lately. Do we keep renting or do we try and buy a house? Would the bank even give us a loan since we still own our St. Paul house? We went and saw a house in Manhattan on Saturday that we had wanted to rent back in April but they had offered it to someone else. Turns out that family didn't take it and it was still available. The people that own the house are a military family and they will be stationed somewhere else in Kansas for one-three years. Then he will retire from the military and they would like to come back to their house. If they couldn't find someone to rent it, then they would be forced to put it on the market. After thinking about it for a few days we decided to rent the house. It is a beautiful ranch with a walk-out basement located on a cul-de-sac very close to a park. They even came down on the rent for us. They really are an answer to our prayers right now. As much as we'd like to own our own home, this is a wonderful alternative and probably the smarter route to take right now anyway. Plus, we can spend the next year or two getting acquainted with this new place and just enjoying our kids and new job instead of fixing up a new house and stressing over the financial strain. We are excited.

We also got new phones that we love. We went with Altell. (sp?) We're excited because the plan is awesome and both of our parents use Altell so we can talk all we want.

It was 92 degrees yesterday. Today is a little cooler and rainy. A bummer for people planning a Memorial Day picnic. I thought there might be a parade or something here since we are so close to Fort Riley, but I can't find any information. Instead we will go to Target and the grocery store. Brian has a potential grad. student visiting tomorrow and we're having her over for dinner. She is a Luther grad too. Hopefully she will like K-State and want to work for Brian.

Andrew is awake - gotta go. Oh! He's rolling over! He started on his 4 month birthday (I know, I am behind on his monthly blog) and also started sleeping on his side. It's the cutest thing to see his little butt sticking out while he's all curled up. He's napping much better but still not sleeping through the night. It's better though - the crying has decreased so much since we propped up one side of his crib. Maybe a little reflux happening. Thanks for the advice, Peg.
