Thanksgiving recap

We got home last night after a week in Minnesota.  Unfortunately, it was really cold while we were there so the boys didn't get the outside play time like we'd all really hoped for.  We all had colds though so it was for the best.  We spent Thanksgiving Day with Brian's family and got to spend some quality time with Brian's grandma, Elaine, which is always a treat.  She is feisty and sweet and funny, has lots of questions and loves to hear about what we're up to.

We drove to Winona on Thursday afternoon to see my family.  Angela and Steve arrived around 7:00 and the three of us hit Target for doorbuster sales at 8:00.  The line was wrapped around the store so we waited in the warm car until we could just walk in the store.  And then I waited in a long line to get that special gift and said a prayer of thanks for smart phones that make line-waiting pleasant.  We were home by 10:00 and in bed an hour later.  I know a lot of people were offended by Thanksgiving night sales but I muuuuch prefer shopping that night than getting up in the middle of the night for Friday sales.

On Saturday we took the kids to Minneapolis to see the last Holidazzle parade.  We took Jackson when he was 11 months old.  It's a long tradition in Minneapolis and this is its last year.  It was a chilly night and we had to wait quite a while but the kids agreed it was well worth it.

It was a fun week, always great to see family.  And we do it all again in three weeks!  Whew.  Zzzzzzzzz.
